Late Entries
• Late entries will be accepted if spaces are still available. A surcharge of $35.00 will be applied for each late entry.
• Any change of registration will incur a surcharge of $35.00.

AGE
Competitors must enter in the appropriate age group, with the age criteria as follows:
The Classical Awards is open to all dancers, ages 8 years old onwards.

Professional dancers are not permitted to compete. A professional dancer is defined as anyone who is employed as a full-time dancer (Apprentices included) with a professional dance company. This includes dancers who are not currently employed under such a contract, but have been in the past.

JUNIOR 12years under
Every candidate is to participate in a Master Class. Perform one classical variation from the official Repertoire List or perform a classical routine of choice.
Soft Ballet Shoes required for competition – Pointe shoes are permitted for entrants 12years of age and over.
Black leotard of any style, short chiffon skirt is optional.
Participants to make slight changes to the original variations to suit their skills and ability. Finalist will perform one classical variation or one classical routine of choice, this may be a repeat from the semi finals.

SENIOR 13years and over
Every candidate is to participate in a Master Class. Perform one classical variation from the official Repertoire List or perform a classical routine of choice.

• Cut off age will be by September 12th 2026. Proof of Age may be required with a copy of the Childs Birth Certificate.
• The order of appearance will not be changed Competitors must accept and follow the order. Under NO circumstances will this order change
• Competitors must wear their own costumes and make-up, suitable for the Variation/Routine . Elaborate costuming will not add any extra value or points to the competitors scores.
• All competition performances are open to the public.
• Candidate will wear costume for Variation/Routine

JUDGING
1st score for technical merit and 2nd for the artistic interpretation.
Score is out of 100

REFUNDS
There are no refunds for Entry Fees.

REGO PASS
The Competitor Registration Fee for Platinum Dance Competition | PLATINUM CLASSICAL AWARDS offers a comprehensive package, providing participants with the opportunity to display their talents at the prestigious event, accompanied by unlimited entry for friends and family. Competitors benefit from a detailed emailed program and the support of a dedicated Backstage Manager, skilled Sound Technician, and a Front of House Team, contributing to a seamless experience. Additionally, an Office Events Co-ordinator is included to manage administrative details, ensuring a well-organised and enjoyable competition atmosphere.

ADJUDICATORS AND MARKING CRITERIA
The Marking Criteria will be based on the Competitor’s Dance Techniques as well as Artistry.
The various aspects of Dance Techniques include Posture, Control & Coordination of Movements, Aesthetic Lines, Use of Space and/or Formations and the Versatility of Movement Qualities.

Artistry will include Musicality and the Effectiveness of the Performance in relation to the Choreography.

• Pointe work is allowed only from age 12 and above.
• Depending on the total number of entries for each level and genre, total number of prize awards and scholarships will be given out at the discretion of the adjudicating and organising panel.

PRIZES AND AWARDS
Dances will be assessed and judged by the adjudicators. Competition will be held in sessions based on age categories and genres. Times for each session will be announced after the sign up deadline.

The Prize Awards will be announced at the end of the competition day.

All competitors should be present at the award ceremony.

Entrants may perform a variation from the list below or choose to perform their own variation. The variations provided are intended as a guide only, and dancers are welcome to perform any recognised classical variation that is appropriate for their age and level.

GENERAL INFORMATION

• There are no refunds, except if a section or the event is cancelled.

• The order of appearance will not be changed Competitors must accept and follow the order. Under NO circumstances will this order change.

• Restarts. A competitor who commences performing and stops will be permitted to performing at end of section. Competitor will receive a report only and not be eligible for a placing.

• All competitors and spectators enter at their own risk. No responsibility will be taken for any accident, injury, or loss of property. This also applies to property on the grounds of the venue including motor vehicle.

• All competitors will be required to confirm their attendance with the backstage manager, 1 hr prior to scheduled program time.

• Adjudicators decision is final. There is to be no communication with the adjudicator except for the offical staff at PLATINUM DANCE COMPETITION.

• If insufficient numbers in a section, the organiser reserves the right to amend, combine, or cancel sections at their discretion.

• Props must be removed from stage as soon as possible after performance is completed and removed completely from side stage.

• Pointe shoes are not to be worn by competitors under 12 years of age.

• All rubbish and items must be removed from the venue and change rooms when you leave. Please leave change rooms and hall in the clean and tidy condition in which they were found.

• No smoking is permitted anywhere on school grounds.

• All participants give their permission for any photograph or video taken of them by PLATINUM DANCE COMPETITION to be used in promotion. This includes ads, website, social media, newsletters, brochures and any other form of marketing both print and digital on behalf of PLATINUM DANCE COMPETITION of videos, cameras and mobile phone photography is STRICTLY NOT PERMITTED and may lead to a competitor being disqualified. Teachers, please advise parents of this restriction. An official photographer and videographer will be available to record your dances for a fee.

• Entrants must arrive 1 hr prior to scheduled time. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by and adult.

• PLATINUM DANCE COMPETITION expects all studios that participate in events to maintain a high moral standard, keep a positive attitude, and encouraging nature.

• We promote an environment of positive energy and growth of the students.

• PLATINUM DANCE COMPETITION philosophy: Competition is not about “beating out others” but improving yourselves, appreciating what you have learned and acknowledging accomplishments, everything else is icing on the cake!

• Upon entering the PLATINUM DANCE COMPETITION, it is agreed that all students, parents, relatives and teachers will not hold the PLATINUM DANCE COMPETITION, staff, directors, or the host facilities responsible for any injury or loss of property during the event.

• PLATINUM DANCE COMPETITION promotes a family-geared environment. Routines that are seductive, contain explicit lyrics, and suggestive material could result in substantial point deductions. We expect all entries to be appropriate for family viewing. We also expect all parents, teachers, & dancers to use good moral character and values at the competition. We encourage good sportsmanship!!!
